In the heart of the historic center of Florence, inside the courtyard of San Silvestro, the “Hortus communis” project consists in the creation of an urban garden accessible to all. This community garden is in fact a project based on the sharing of spaces and knowledge, which intends to bring together different people and experiences united by the love for Nature. The project was carried out by the volunteers of the Società Toscana di Orticultura, and the initiative involves all the people who attend the Institute, giving in particular the possibility to elderly residents to carry out gardening and horticulture activities in a pleasant and accessible space.
